Mental health counseling is an opportunity to take in the whole person: how the mind, body, and spirit work together to awaken wellness and wholeness. We will explore the past, present, and future, taking into account how all the many parts work together. Past wounds, that unfinished business, without healing and restoration, seeps into the day-to-day, which will also carry into the future if unattended to. Through counseling, together we will explore what led you to seek outside yourself, create realistic, uniquely tailored therapy goals, and begin the work of collecting, connecting, and correcting, which will lead to growth and healing.
Therapy is unique in that it can be short- or long-term. Short-term therapy typically consists of 4-6 sessions, whereas long-term therapy can be 12+ sessions. Therapy length is determined based on need, resources, skill-set, and personal preference. It is best practice to commit to four weeks of weekly scheduled sessions, then gradually allow more time in between therapy sessions to practice engaging the learned skills.
